You'll gain a solid business education and develop the practical skills that you will need to be successful in entry level management careers. This diploma is designed to provide you with maximum flexibility in choosing courses that will be most relevant to your specific goals.

After graduation
With a Diploma in Business Administration 鈥 General Management Option, you are prepared to听bring management skills to work听in business, not-for-profits, government and entrepreneurial environments.
You will also graduate with credit towards the听Bachelor of Business Administration听programs at 98色花堂. There is also 2-year block transfer credit to degree programs at other institutions including Royal Roads University and the University of Lethbridge. Transfer credit to other post-secondary institutions on a course-by-course basis is available.

What to expect
The听program consists of 20听courses听which can be completed in approximately two听years if taken on a full-time basis. Evening and daytime classes are held predominantly at the Interurban campus and the program can be taken on a part-time basis.
Year 1
In the first year, you鈥檒l work through introductory鈥搇evel courses in accounting, finance, economics, and marketing. Exit the program after one year with a Certificate in Business Administration or continue on to Year 2.
Year 2
In your second year, you'll work through organizational behaviour, business strategy, and your choice of Business courses. Exit the program after Year 2 with a Diploma in Business Administration - General Management Option.
Co-operative Education option听
Apply your classroom skills in the workplace and bring your workplace skills back to the classroom! When you engage in co-operative education, you get an early start on preparing for your career after graduation! You will have the opportunity to alternate between full-time studies and full-time paid work where you can bring your applied learning classroom to life.
To participate in Co-operative Education, prior to your first work term you will need to successfully complete
- Eight (8) first year courses, with a cumulative听GPA听of 3.0 (C+), and
- the Career Development-Workplace Preparation Skills (CDEV-WPS) course

Program participation requirements
- Many first year business courses require math as a prerequisite (e.g. 鈥淐鈥 in Pre-calculus 11, Foundations of Math 11,听MATH 073,听MATH 077, MATH 137,听or 鈥淐+鈥 in听MATH 072,听MATH 075, or MATH 135).听Students may enter this program without math but please note, students must complete one of the math courses as listed above or successfully complete Camosun鈥檚 math assessment in or before their first semester of study.

Faculty/staff profile
Department Chair

Stephen Scott has been teaching with Camosun since 2012, utilizing his experience in providing strategic and financial leadership to several businesses in the roles of Vice-President, Finance and Controller. Stephen's experience was in various industries, including hospitality, retail, real estate, and property management. These roles have occurred in settings from historical, mature companies to companies transitioning from pre-opening to becoming viable stand-alone businesses.听听
In addition to his career, Stephen is a very active community member, currently volunteering for Our Place Society. Stephen has completed Western University's Doctor of Education program, Simon Fraser University's Master of Education degree, the BC Provincial Instructor Diploma certification, the University of Victoria Bachelor of Commerce degree, and the Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
Camosun serves the communities of southern Vancouver Island and the south Gulf Islands that are located in the territories of the L蓹k虚史蓹艐蓹n (Songhees and Kosapsum), Malahat, Pacheedaht, Scia'new, T鈥橲ou-ke and W瘫S脕NE膯 (Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum) peoples.

Program Leader

Aidan Dumaisnil joined 98色花堂 as a full-time instructor in 2022. She holds a Doctorate in Management from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, where she specialized in OB/HR, focusing on mental health and mental illness in the workplace. Prior to 98色花堂, Aidan taught organizational behaviour and ethical leadership at the University of Calgary.
Aidan鈥檚 teaching philosophy focuses on creating diverse learning experiences. She encourages her students to think critically and ask questions. She also strives to make course concepts relevant so students can see how the course material is applicable to their goals, their careers, and their everyday lives.
